
What is R.E.A.L.?
That inquiry could lead to endless perspectives, theories, and conclusions based on both fact and subjective experience. To simplify things as it relates to my work…
REAL is the first part of my business name that came to me one day while I was running. On that particular run, I decided to enjoy silence instead of a book or podcast playing in my ears. Gratefully, as I was listening to silence, the word REAL came to me. My curiosity jumped into gear as I opened up for more information to surface. And then I saw four words come across clearly in my mind’s eye.
Relax. Embody. Allow. Let go.
R.E.A.L.
These restorative practices can serve as the foundation for natural healing and for taking purposeful action, both physically and mentally.
Running with this thought (literally), I could relate it to how I set a clear intention for each client to experience these qualities during a session by deeply relaxing and allowing their physical body and perhaps their minds to release unnecessary restrictions and discomfort. When we soften into the present moment, we can find space in our mind and bodies for healing and new perspectives. R.E.A.L. sets us up for clarity, integration, and right action.
As I continued into the last mile of my run, I challenged myself to apply R.E.A.L right then and there to see what would surface. I took myself through the steps of relaxing into my breathing and pace, feeling my body working, and allowing myself to flow with my breathing and my body’s momentum. I could immediately feel more of me in the present moment. I breathed more fully and consciously, I felt the steady swing in my arms, the power of my legs propelling me forward, and an extra surge of energy throughout my whole body. That’s it, we have more access to our innate POWER when we engage in the qualities of R.E.A.L.
My intention in each session is to assist you in experiencing the qualities of REAL so that you can be as POWERFUL as you were meant to be...in body, mind, and spirit.
